So far, none file papers for CCP polls

For the second day running, no nominations were filed for elections to the Corporation of City of Panaji. The process of filing nominations which kickstarted on Monday will come to an end on February 16.

PANAJI: 
While Taleigao strongman Babush Monserrate confirmed Thursday as the day for all his candidates to file nominations, BJP-backed panel ‘Panaji First’ candidates are likely to do it later in a day or two. 
BJP is likely to announce its second list of candidates in the next two days following the first 21 which was made public on Tuesday.
Asmita in, Bhosle dropped from Babush’s final list: Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate has brought in Asmita Kerkar, replacing former corporator Avinash Bhosle who was earlier named as one of the candidates on his panel, besides also announcing the final list of his panel.
“Asmita Kerkar has been given the ticket for Ward 22 and the candidate decided for Ward 23 is Manisha Manerkar,” Monserrate told 
The Goan.
The change in candidature for Ward 22 comes a day after the BJP released its list of candidates, leaving Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) member Avinash Bhosle in the lurch.

PANAJIEdible oysters collected from the the Zuari bay at Agassaim were found to have a high presence of the heavy metal Cadmium in some cases up to five times the permitted concentration, a study conducted in December 2015 by the National Institute of Oceanography has found.Interestingly, however the study has found that the concentration of Cadmium (Cd) is high even as its presence in the surrounding sediments is well within limits.“The permitted Cadmium for edible oysters…
