Addressing a gathering on the occasion of the annual function of MHS as it completes 103 years, the Governor said if institutions fail to impart such form of education, then it will lead to destructive tendencies in the society by the same human beings.
She said in any society, there exist people who work for peace whose number is large even as people with destructive tendencies also exist in the society. “Both such types of people exist in the society. But everybody
knows who wins in the end,” she remarked.
She said many human beings exist in the society who work towards disbursing happiness in the society, particularly that happiness which these particular human beings have earned.
Terming Goa as a culturally and religiously rich State, she said many misconceptions about Goa exist elsewhere in the country which she has cleared on many occasions.
“Goa is educated, culturally rich and full of harmony. India is proud of such a State,” she told the audience.
Stating that Goa should remain exactly in such a form, the Governor claimed it is institutions such as the MHS which are striving towards such an endeavour. “The future generations will understand and will embark upon the path so chalked by their elders,” she added.
Three personalities who have contributed in enriching the society ” architect Ajit Hegde, Dr Anand Venkatesh Raikar and stage artiste Gajanan Sonu Alve were feted.
A portrait of late Shantaram Kantak was also unveiled by the Governor.
