In the wake of the continuing surge in Covid cases in the state, putting a strain on the logistics and infrastructure, the Rotary Club of Margao Midtown on Monday donated around 100 oxygen flow meters to South Goa district hospital, Margao.
The same were handed over to the South Goa district hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Deepa Correia on Monday morning.
Rotary Club of Margao Midtown president, Nita Noronha e Costa, said it was an endeavour of the club to help the community in this current crisis. The 100 flow meters will help get oxygenation to an additional 100 beds, she added.
The club will also be donating 30 oxygen concentrators early next week or soon as supplies reach Goa.
“The funds for these projects have been generated through our CSR partners and we are grateful to them. The total project cost is Rs 25 lakhs,” informed Nita Noronha e Costa. Present for the handover were Club President Nita Noronha e Costa, Dr Lenny Da Costa Club CSR Chair along with Rotary Members Artemio Da Silva, Dr Varun Carvalho and Yogesh Nagvenkar.
