The Office of Collector and District Election Officer, South Goa has issued a notification declaring the schedule for voting by absentee voters through the postal ballot paper.
As per the Election Commission guidelines, the following categories of Absentee Voters (AV) have been given the facility of voting through Postal Ballot paper: (i) Senior citizens (above 85 years of age) (AVSC), Persons with disability flagged in the database for the electoral roll (AVPD), COVID 19 suspect or affected persons (AVCO), Absentee voters on Essential Services (AVES).
The notification stated that for AVSC, AVPD, and AVCO categories, voting is scheduled from 29th April 2024 to 03rd May 2024, from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Separate polling teams will be visiting the registered address as given in Form 12D of the absentee voters in the categories (i), (ii), & (iii) above. For AVES category, voting is scheduled from 3rd May 2024 to 05th May 2024 from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. Absentee voters on essential service (AVES) will have to cast their vote mandatorily at their respective Postal Voting Centres (PVC).
