The South Goa district Collector Ajit Roy late on Wednesday imposed restrictions on cinema theatres and multiplexes up to 50 per cent of their seat capacity and swimming pools except when swimming pool is being used for training of sports persons.
In an order issued under section 144 of the Cr P C, the district Collector has imposed restrictions on social. Academic, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious and political functions and other congregations with a ceiling of 100 persons subject to the following conditions.
In respect of closed spaces, the Collector’s order says that a maximum of 50 per cent of the hall capacity will be allowed, with a ceiling of 200 persons.
As far as open spaces is concerned, the order states that keeping the size of the ground/space in view and with strict observance of social distancing, mandatory wearing of face masks, provision for thermal scanning and hand wash or sanitizer.
The order has warned that any person contravening the order shall be punishable under section 188 of the IPC. The latest order is in supersession of the order dated August 31 and will come into effect from midnight of October 15.
