In fact, around 400 mutation cases and 200 partition cases are expected to be disposed of during the daylong exercise in the office of the Sub-divisional magistrate at Margao, Ajit Panchwadkar.
The SDM told the media that these cases were scheduled to be disposed of in the next three-four months, but have been preponed in view of the ensuing Assembly
election.
“These cases pertaining to mutation and partition are also awaiting disposal. The reports and other procedure stands completed in all respect and dates were giving between November and December for disposal of these cases, but we have proponed the cases since officials will all be pre-occupied with the election work,” he said.
Pointing out the disposal of the mutation and partition cases will reduce the backlog, which has been piling over the years, Panchwadkar has appealed to the parties to attend the daylong exercise on Friday. “I have sent SMS messages to the parties, whose telephone numbers were found mentioned on the files. These cases can be disposed of if the parties all come and attend the hearings on September 30,” he added.
