Stating that it is due to the initiative of the chief minister that the police outpost in Santa Cruz has seen the light of the day after 32 years, DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena said the CM showed keen interest in building infrastructure projects for Goa Police.
“The land for the police outpost was allotted way back in 1989 but after 32 years it has become a reality because of the initiative of the chief minister who is keen on building infrastructure projects for Goa Police. Whenever we request any facility, he willingly grants the same,” Meena said.
“This police outpost is necessary for this area as it will help the locals and also improve all-round policing in the area,” Meena informed.
“The CM has already sanctioned construction of many police stations like Quepem and other places. In fact, policing depends on facilities provided by the government.”
“When I met him in March and requested for cars, he sanctioned 35 cars due to which overall policing has improved. With this kind of support from the government, the police can do wonders,” he added.
“If we have policemen who work honestly, sincerely and with dedication, they will provide a crime-free environment to the public,” Meena said and stated that because of the efforts of Goa Police, the detection rate in Goa is better than in other states.
“The investigation and detective skills of our officers are excellent. Most of the cases are detected immediately like the child kidnapping case of GMC,” he concluded.
