Karuna Football Foundation organised the Goa Revolution Day Run for the second year in a row, covering a distance of 74 kms from Mollem border to Vasco. 

The run was held to create awareness on the benefits of running and walking for the development of immunity, especially during these Covid-19 pandemic times. Fifteen members from the foundation and GVM’s College started the run at 5.45 am in a relay format from Mollem to cover the distance through Dharbandora, Ponda, Borim, Loutolim, Cortalim, Chicalim to Vasco. Last year, the group had covered a distance of 108 kms from Pollem border to Patradevi border.

The run was held in a relay format where each runner covered approximately a kilometre and then another runner took over to continue as each runner ran between 4-6 kms depending upon their fitness level. The event was led by the director of Karuna Football Foundation, Kennedy D’Silva, who has been involved in several run-walk initiatives in the past.

The team comprised Betty, Sansiew, Aaren, Selwyn, Prakash, Xylon, Xellion, Filbert, Xenio and the girls of the Compassion FC team, with Shobali, Prachi, Kalpita, Francy and Alpita running the distance to develop their fitness first. Prof Dandin of GVM’s College of Commerce, Ponda was present along with other staff members when the participating runners stopped for a brief snacks break at the college. Betty D’Silva, director of Physical Education of the college and former national level volleyball player, started with the run at the Mollem border early morning.
