Stolen amount recovered
BICHOLIM: Villagers from Kelbaiwada-Mayem have recovered cash of about Rs 20,000, which was stolen from the fund box at Kelbai temple at Kelbaiwada-Mayem in 2012.
According to the police, the amount was stolen by some persons by breaking the fund box.
The police were investigating into the matter. However, the villagers were shocked to see a bag containing coins amounting to Rs 20,000 that was thrown in the cashew plantation area at a place called 'Vanjyar.'
The villagers informed the matter to Bicholim Police who rushed to the spot and recovered the amount. Bicholim Police is investigating the case.
