Stop passing the buck: Falari

MAPUSA: Goa State Urban Development Agency, vice-chairman, Sandip Falari on Thursday said instead of passing the buck, the Mapusa civic body should own up to its inconsistencies and work towards alleviating people’s woes.
“In my tenure as the chairperson of the Mapusa Municipal Council, I have never blamed anyone when things went wrong. We all work as a team. We should refrain from blaming anyone and accept certain bitter truths,” Falari said.
The GSUDA vice-chairman was reacting to Wednesday’s flooding in Mapusa and MMC, Chairman, Rohan Kavlekar’s statement against GSUDA’s and WRD’s slow progress of work.
Falari admitted that GSUDA’s speed of work was slow and since the time he took over the reign of the agency, he was trying to put things in place.
“If GSUDA’s slow work resulted flooding in Mapusa market, then how come there was heavy flooding in Khorlim where there is no work going on either of GSUDA or WRD?” he retorted.
