Strict action if negligence found, says Factories Minister

Factories and Boilers Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar has warned of strict action if any negligence is ascertained during investigations into the blast at the Zuari Agro Chemicals Limited factory in Zuarinagar, which claimed the lives of three workers.

"Our officials from the department of Factories and boilers are investigating the incident and they will soon submit a report,” said Halarnkar, while speaking to media persons.

“Every life is precious and no one has the right to play with the lives of people. As far as my information is concerned, the plant was supposed to close down for eight months for maintenance,” the minister added.

Three workers were killed following a blast in a tank at the ZACL in Zuarinagar on Tuesday.
