MARGAO: Twenty-eight tourists from Kerala were rushed to the South Goa District Hospital late on Tuesday night after allegedly suffering from suspected food poisoning. According to South Goa District Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Rajendra Borkar, the first patients arrived at the hospital at around 10.50 pm, while the last case was reported at approximately 1.30 am on Wednesday.
The tourists complained of vomiting and other symptoms commonly linked to food poisoning. Medical teams attended to all the patients and provided the necessary treatment. Dr Borkar said that three of the affected tourists were advised to stay in hospital for observation. However, all three chose to leave against medical advice. The tourists reportedly told hospital authorities that they had eaten at a food outlet in Old Goa before falling ill.
