MARGAO: Margao Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the Khareband area of the city after a fire broke out in a small café late on Wednesday night. The café had already closed for the day when the fire started. Fire Officer Gill D’Souza said the premises were opened to allow firefighters to carry out operations. “The fire brigade reached the spot promptly and brought the blaze under control before it could spread further,” he said. He added that the café suffered damage, with the kitchen area and parts of the roof structure, including rafters, being destroyed in the fire. No injuries were reported.
