The Sunburn Festival is set to shift to South Goa this year, aiming to boost the region’s tourism economy. However, the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) emphasised the need for active engagement with local stakeholders in South Goa to ensure mutual benefits and a harmonious event environment and to adhere to certain protocols before proceeding further.
GCCI highlighted Sunburn’s international stature, noting its role in placing Goa on the global music festival map with performances by renowned artists. This exposure has significantly benefited Goa’s tourism and various business sectors like hotels, guesthouses, bars, restaurants, and transport, thereby enhancing the State’s economy.
GCCI acknowledged the positive impact of such events worldwide in driving tourism economies but stressed the importance of strict adherence to protocols, permissions, safety measures, traffic and waste management guidelines.
