Chief Minister Pramod Sawant Friday said that the State government intends to achieve Zero unemployment rate in Goa.
Speaking at the Job & Internship Fair on Friday at Ravindra Bhavan in Sankhali, Sawant urged youths to take up jobs in the private sector rather than just focusing on government jobs.
“We want to achieve zero unemployment in Goa,” Sawant said. “Industries in Goa have jobs available, but there are not enough applicants. I want our youths to take the opportunity," he added.
Sawant appealed to youths to enrol in the PM Internship Programme which offers 1,000 vacancies with salaries ranging from Rs. 15,000 to Rs 20,000 for 9-to-5 jobs monthly.
Sawant further spoke on the importance of experience, especially in the private sector. “In today’s job market, experience is key,” he said. “Even if you are selected for a government job through the staff selection process, experience is mandatory. If you do not have experience, it becomes difficult to secure any job. Don’t wait only for government jobs, take any job you get and build your experience," he said.
