MARGAO: “At my recent meeting with Agriculture officials, we have decided to bring under cultivation minimum 1500-2000 acres of barren fields by deploying mechanical paddy transplanters. We have drawn up plans to bring under cultivation barren fields lying along the major roads. And, we will not resort to politics in this endeavour. Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco has put up a good show on the agricultural front and the government will support him to take agriculture in Curtorim forward,” he added.
Task Force to look into cultivation of barren fields
Agriculture Minister Vijai Sardesai on Saturday said the department will set up a Task Force to cultivate the barren fields across Goa by deploying mechanical paddy transplanters.
