The State government on Wednesday made effective the amendment to the Town and Country Planning Act which empowers the Chief Town Planner to convert zoning in the Regional Plan of individual parcels of land.
A notification issued on Monday and published in the Official Gazette by TCP Secretary D A Hawaldar said: “In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 1 of the Goa Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Act, 2018 (Goa Act 9 of 2018), the Government of Goa hereby appoints the third day of October, 2018, as the date on which the provisions of the said Act shall come into force.” In the same gazette notification, Hawaldar also notified the rules under which owners of land can apply for such conversion of zone on a prescribed form.
The applications are required to be accompanied by a survey plan, Form I & XIV, ownership documents, current zoning certificate, contour plan and photograph, if required, of the parcel of land for which change in zone is being applied for.
