“The TCP has directed the panchayat to pay infrastructure tax of Rs 22 lakh towards the purpose. This multipurpose complex will house shops, panchayat office, a hall for organising programmes, a library and sub-health centre,” informed Govekar after laying foundation stone for a garden at Alto-Pilerne.
“The panchayat had decided to construct this project through the GSIDC,” said Govekar.
He further said there was a long-pending demand of locals for construction of a garden in an open space of about 1,000 sq mtrs at Alto-Pilerne. “However, a local encroached on this open space and carried out construction on
about 500 sq mtrs of land, while people started dumping garbage on the remaining portion,” he said.
