Teen hurt in van accident at Shristhal

A teenaged driver from Karwar was seriously injured while other occupants escaped unhurt when the van in which they were travelling went off the National Highway-17 at Mokhardamoll in Shristhal on Saturday evening.
According to Canacona police, the accident took place as Rammez Ismail (18) was driving the van (KA-30-M-7463) from Canacona towards Karwar.
All other occupants of the car reportedly escaped unhurt, but Ismail suffered injuries to his legs and was taken to the Community Health Centre (CHC), before being referred to Margao for further treatment.
Sources informed The Goan that a group of youngsters from neighbouring Karnataka were going back in the van after enjoying the weekend at Palolem beach.
