Third Mandovi bridge by Dec: Parulekar
Says four amphibious vehicles will be available shortly

Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar on Monday stated that the State government is striving hard to complete work on the third Mandovi bridge by December 2016.
“On completion of the third Mandovi bridge, the work of a flyover at Porvorim will commence at a cost of around Rs 500 crore,” Parulekar said.
Parulekar was speaking after launching the hot-mixing of roads in Nova Cidade and PDA colonies at Porvorim.
“Amphibious vehicles will soon be available to boost tourism in the State. Two amphibious vehicles are ready and have been tested at Amona. We are awaiting clearance from the Central government and as soon as approval is received, it will put these into operation. Later, two more amphibious vehicles will be constructed,” he said.
Parulekar further said that most works of hot-mixing roads in Saligao constituency have been completed.
“The government has sanctioned five bus sheds and these will be erected along the Porvorim-Guirim road shortly,” he added. Meanwhile, Pilerne-Marra Sarpanch Amarnath Govenkar expressed confidence that Pilerne-Marra would be a model village in Saligao constituency.
He was addressing a gathering in the presence of Tourism Minister and local MLA Dilip Parulekar during the launch of hot-mixing roads in Nova Cidade and PDA colonies at Porvorim on Monday. The hot-mixing of 4.6 kms of road in Nova Cidade and PDA Colony is being undertaken at a cost of Rs 1.60 crore.
“Going by the pace of development in Pilerne-Marra, we are confident that Pilerne-Marra will be a model village in Saligao constituency.
He further said that hot-mixing of most roads and cross drains in Pilerne-Marra Panchayat has been completed.
“The work to develop gardens and open spaces in Nova Cidade and PDA Colony will be taken up soon,” he said.
Nova Cidade Panch Karan Govenkar also spoke on the occasion and listed out the works he has undertaken in Nova Cidade colony. ZP member Rupesh Nai and PDA Colony ward panch Sangeeta Narvekar were also present.
