Event to include a study-tourism tour for over 30 international journalists to Goa on June 11

BELAGAVI
About 300 journalists from India and abroad will take part in a 3-day international conference of journalists in Belagavi from June 9 to 11. The event will include a study cum tourism tour for over 30 international journalists to Goa on June 11.
Organised by the Karnataka Union of Working Journalists (KUWJ), Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah will inaugurate the conference at the KLES International Convention Centre at Nehrunagar here.
Sri Lankan Minister for Tourism Buwaneka Herath, Ambassador of Sri Lanka tourism and cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya are among the host of national and international personalities who will be present for the conference.
Briefing media persons, Belagavi district president of KUWJ Dilip Kurundwade said the theme of the seminar will be Environment and Media.
“The conference is also aimed at showcasing Belagavi and Goa region to the international media. Newly inducted ministers from Karnataka Satish Jarkiholi, Laksmi Hebbalkar and noted industrialist Sanjay Ghodawat are among those who will be gracing the inaugural function of the conference,” said Kurundwade.
“Noted speakers of international repute like Gitika Talukdar from South Korea, Samjna Paudel from Nepal, Pathum Wickramarathna, Dr Geetha Kiran from Karnataka and Upul Jayasinghe from Sri Lanka will deliver lectures based on environment and role of media. Senior Journalist from Bangladesh Mohomad Shameem will be presiding over the seminar.”
Over 30 international journalists will also undertake a study cum tourism tour of Goa on June 11, Kurundwade said.
Honorary president of Belgaum branch of KUWJ Bhimshi Jarkiholi, noted senior journalist H R Ranganath are among the other dignitaries who will be present for the conference. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi would release a souvenir to mark the occasion.
The event would witness journalists from across the globe including UK, Australia, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
