Amidst criticism that it would abandon its political foray in Goa following the electoral debacle where it drew a blank, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on Sunday announced it will continue "the good fight" for the people of Goa and appointed an 'election review committee' to introspect on the electoral performance and future plans.
A statement by TMC's national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee said the review panel will be headed by Ashok Tanwar who will be assisted by Sushmita Dev and Sourav Chakraborty.
It will hold its first meeting of the review panel will be held in Goa on March 26, where the party's candidates, their core teams and individual members of the party will be invited.
This first meeting will be followed by a series of follow-up conclaves to chart out the path ahead for TMC Goa.
In a bid to explain the reason behind the TMC's decision to enter Goa on the even of the elections, Banerjee said: "We began our mission in Goa to fill the void created due to lack of an efficient, robust Opposition."
He added that the party will try to understand in-depth what can be done better for Goa TMC to win hearts and minds, he added.
