PANAJI
Trinamool Congress leaders on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai demanding the immediate resignation of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant amid allegations by former Goa governor Satya Pal Malik.
Taking cognisance of accusations of corruption during the management of the Covid pandemic, the TMC also sought a judicial inquiry to be headed by a retired high court or supreme court judge and a white paper on the government’s management of the Covid pandemic.
Former union minister Babul Supriyo, National Vice President Luizinho Faleiro, TMC MP Saugata Roy and other TMC leaders met Governor Pillai and handed him the memorandum.
“A serious and specific charge about Covid mismanagement has been made by a constitutional authority and hence, the chief minister should come out with a white paper in the matter,” said Supriyo.
The TMC delegation has also submitted another memorandum to the governor complaining about the vandalism of TMC posters in different parts of the State.
“The ruling party is afraid of the TMC,” said Faleiro.
The TMC has also demanded a reinvestigation into the death of Siddhi Naik and sought action against police officials who have failed to properly investigate the case.
Alleging that law and order has deteriorated in the State, the TMC leaders have demanded efforts to restore law and order in the State.
