PANAJI
The inauguration of the new elevated corridor on NH-66 at Porvorim on Wednesday will have separate entry and parking arrangements for VIPs and the general public. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari will inaugurate the corridor at 5 pm.
The ceremony will be held on the Panaji-Mapusa lane of the elevated corridor, above Delfino's Porvorim.
The Traffic Police, in an advisory issued on Tuesday, said VIPs attending the ceremony will enter from the Hotel Neo Majestic side, while members of the public will use the Guirim-side entrance.
VIP vehicles will be parked on the newly constructed elevated corridor, on the left-hand side of the Panaji-Mapusa carriageway, before the function venue. Parking for other VIP vehicles has been arranged near Azad Bhavan and Gadge Maharaj Hall in Porvorim.
For the general public, parking for buses, two-wheelers and four-wheelers will be available on the elevated corridor above Amanora Building.
The Traffic Police said shuttle vehicles would ferry members of the public between the designated parking area and the function venue.
The advisory urged motorists and attendees to follow instructions issued by Traffic Police personnel and cooperate with the arrangements to ensure the event proceeds safely and without disruption.
