Traffic on the National Highway 66 was disrupted for some time at Cuncolim after a tree came crashing down on the highway on Friday evening, throwing up the moot questions whether the PWD, National Highway had failed to trim the branches or cut dangerous trees along the highway.
The incident occurred on Friday evening when the tree came down on the road, bringing all traffic on the National highway to a grinding halt.
The Cuncolim fire brigade rushed to the spot to clear the tree and debris. However, a serpentine queue of vehicles was seen lined up on both sides of the Highway.
Citizens questioned the inaction by the PWD, National Highway to cut down all dangerous trees and tree branches leaning on the highway on the stretch from Cuncolim to Chinchinim.
