A couple of government officers returned back to the pavilion following the govt keeping in abeyance on Wednesday a transfer order which it issued on Tuesday.
In fact, as the government kept in abeyance the general transfer order issued on Tuesday, many officers who presented their joining orders at the new place of posting, had no option but return back to their previous offices around Wednesday noon.
A case in point is the transfer of Cuncolim Municipal Chief Officer Violet Gomes to the post of Administrator of South Goa Comunidades in place of Joao Fernandes, who was holding additional charge of the post in addition to the charge as Deputy Collector, Margao.
Sources in the know informed that the Cuncolim Chief Officer made her presence felt in the office of the Administrator of Comunidades on Wednesday morning and submitted her joining order.
The Goan understands that deputy Collector Joao Fernandes also made his presence felt at the Cuncolim Municipal Office to take over the administrative reigns of the civic body.
After the duo submitted their joining orders, they later realized that the government had decided to keep the transfer orders in abeyance till further orders.
Sources in the know informed that both Violet and Joao were in the process of withdrawing their joining orders and returning to their respective offices.
In fact, the government decision to keep the transfers in abeyance have come as a surprise to the officers, with speculations rife that the order has been kept on hold apparently owing to differences of opinion amongst the ministers.
Sources are trying to find out whether the Cuncolim Municipal Chief Officer was being transferred when she is due to retire within a month and half on September 30.
