OLD GOA
A huge mango tree uprooted and fell across the main road at Azossim on Saturday night, bringing down power lines and disrupting the traffic along the Azossim-Mandur route for several hours.
According to Old Goa fire sources, a call regarding the uprooted tree came at around 8.30 pm, and it was cleared only at 2 am.
Leading fireman C M Parab along with other firefighters worked for over five hours until the road was clear for traffic.
However, the power supply to the area restored only on Sunday, as the tree had brought down with it both high tension and low tension lines.
