GIDC chief’s admission is proof govt working for BJP, not for people: AAP

PANAJI
Aam Aadmi Party slammed the BJP govt in Goa on Sunday on the backdrop of Goa Industrial Development Council chairman and Aldona BJP MLA Glen Ticlo’s comments that Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the Health Minister aren’t letting businesses in Goa function.

AAP accused the government of pushing the State further into recession and pointed out that Goa’s rating in ease of doing business has slipped down from 21 to the spot of 24 in the country.

AAP leader Adv Surel Tilve said that considering that the government in the State is not working for the development of the industries but to further its own interests, it should rename itself Bharatiya Janata Private Limited.

“Ticlo’s statement that this is what is responsible for creating hurdles in starting more industries and running the existing industries itself actually proves how the government doesn’t care about improving the industrial development situation in Goa,” Tilve said.

He said that if Goans want to stop this mess, they will have to shut down this industry called “Bhartiya Janata Private Limited”.

‘Govt should start taking concrete steps to proactively revive tourism in Goa’

PANAJI: AAP Goa Prabhari Atishi Marlena has called upon the State government to take concrete and serious steps towards revival of the tourism industry in Goa so as to bolster the crumbling economy.

“The tourism industry has been hit across the globe. But now, it is clear that we have to learn to live with the virus. The government must work seriously on revival of the tourism industry in the State keeping in mind all the norms that will ensure our safety. It is especially important for Goa as Goa’s economy and livelihood depends on tourism.”

“All SOPs need to be put in place strictly. However, despite all these issues, there is a need to revive tourism otherwise the economy in Goa will take a strong hit. The steps need to be taken urgently with the tourism season fast approaching,” she stated in a message wishing everyone on World Tourism Day.
