The Core group of the Ribandar Health Care Committee headed by local Corporator Rupesh Harlankar at its meeting held on Sunday at Ribandar, unanimously decided that the people will assemble on October 2, at 9 am outside the Old Ribandar Hospital, to demand a fully-fledged medical centre.
In a press release, Adv Aires Rodrigues impressed on the committee that the October 2 gathering should be held by strictly enforcing the current social distancing norms and by everyone wearing a mask besides observing the other mandatory restrictions.
The committee was of the unanimous opinion that the Goa government should comply with that assurance given in August 2017 by the then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar that within three months a full-fledged health centre with all medical facilities would be restored at the Old Ribandar Hospital.
The committee also observed that the current Panaji MLA which includes Ribandar, Babush Monseratte in his election manifesto at the by-election in May 2019 had also publicly assured that a Health Care Centre with an ambulance and a fully-fledged casualty unit operating a 24X7 medical facility would be started.
