Trees planted at Porvorim
SALIGAO: Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte said nature is the best friend of human beings and planting as well as preservation of trees is very important.
He was addressing the students of Young Achievers Primary School at Porvorim after planting saplings. The programme was organised by Parents Teachers Association of the school.
“Tree absorbs carbon dioxide through its leaves and releases oxygen which is vital for existence. Hence, planting as well as preservation of trees is very important. A pollution-free Goa is possible only with public participation and to a large extent by creating awareness among students,” said Khaunte.
School Principal Valerie Pinto welcomed.
Earlier, the students and Khaunte planted saplings in the vicinity of the school. Winifred Fernandes compered the programme.
