The union minister, who is on a two-day visit of the north Karnataka region, was speaking to media persons.
Blaming Karnataka cm Siddaramiah for not initiating satisfactory initiatives in resolving the issue, he said the Center is interested in resolving the issue in the interest of the people. “Soon a meeting of the chief ministers of Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra would be convened in Mumbai. I am confident that an amicable solution would be arrived at during the meeting,” he said without specifying the actual date of the meeting.
However, blaming the Karnataka chief minister for unsuccessful attempts towards such meeting earlier, he evaded a question whether Goa Chief Minister Parrikar would attend this meeting that was skipped by Laxmikant Parsekar last year. Speaking further, he also stated that he was confident of finding a solution to the issue.
and that he is in contact with chief ministers of Maharashtra and Goa, who he said have shown keen interest in resolving the issue.
He also blamed the Karnataka cm for not disbursing Rs 4500 cr released by the Center as a drought release package for the farmers.
