Truck driver remanded
MAPUSA: The accused driver, Pramod Sawant, who fatally knocked down two persons on NH-17 near Kamarkhazan junction on Monday has been remanded to one-day police custody by a Mapusa court on Tuesday.
A JMFC court remanded the driver to police custody after a loaded truck driven by him had a head-on collision with a scooter, killing both the rider and the pillion rider on the spot.
It may be recalled the deceased rider, Vivek Bicholkar (26) from Revora and pillion rider, Sarvesh Kudav (35) were killed after their scooter had a head-on collision with a loaded truck driven by the accused, Pramod Sawant, on Monday morning.
