Two arrested over illegal bullfights in Navelim

The Margao police have arrested two persons in connection with the bullfight that took place at Mandopa, Navelim, on Thursday.

Based on a complaint lodged by Assistant Sub-Inspector Umesh Gaude of Margao Town Police Station, the Margao police arrested Pritikesh Patil of Colmorod, Margao, and Aditya Shirodkar, aged 31, a resident of Rathwaddo, Navelim, for allegedly organising an illegal bullfight.

The duo has been charged with subjecting the bull to cruelty. They have been booked under Section 11(1)(m) of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
