Maina-Curtorim police have arrested two persons in connection with the Loutolim kidnapping and assault case wherein Eurico Oliveira was mercilessly assaulted by unknown persons before being kidnapped and dumped at Agassaim.
Maina-Curtorim police station in-charge, PI Pravin Kumar Vast, told the media that the police have arrested Anthony Fernandes and Xavier Fernandes in connection with the case. He said the police are now on the look out for the assailants, who were reportedly involved in the assault and kidnapping.
PI Vast said that a burglary had taken place at the residence of Anthony Fernandes on Good Friday. Eurico had stated to the media that the assailants had demanded the stolen gold items from him suspecting him to be behind the burglary.
The arrests of the two persons come a day after former Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco accused the police for shoddy investigations in the case. In fact, Mickky had demanded that PI Vast should opt out of the Maina Curtorim police.
The former MLA was agitated after the PI had threatened a journalist by saying the police will rope the scribe as a witness if he pursues the case.
