The first disbursement under the newly launched Goa Ujjwala Scheme will be made by September 10, the Government announced on Monday, while clarifying that the acceptance of applications for three free LPG cylinders will continue even after the first disbursement.
The announcement comes amid reports of a shortage of application forms at some Village panchayats and municipalities. In a move aimed at ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out, the Government has made additional forms available at every Village Panchayat and the concerned Municipalities across Goa.
In a statement issued, the government said that the additional forms are meant specifically for eligible beneficiaries who have not yet submitted their applications under the scheme.
The government said the September 10 target for the first disbursement will not mark the closure of the application process. "Acceptance of the newly supplied forms will continue thereafter, allowing eligible beneficiaries who have not been covered in the first phase to be considered under the scheme," the dept of civil supplies said.
The department has directed all local bodies to facilitate the distribution and acceptance of forms and ensure that eligible left-out beneficiaries are informed about the opportunity to apply.
