MAPUSA: The undertrial who escaped from the Colvale jail on Tuesday was still at large even as police were investigating the matter.
Separate police teams of Mapusa Police Station, Pernem Police Station and Crime Branch have been formed to trace the accused.Photos of the undertrial have also been circulated around at all the local bus stands and railway stations.
The undertrial, Hemraj Bhardwaj, a resident of Himachal Pradesh, had managed to give the security the slip and escape from the jail premises while in the process of dumping jail waste.
A jail guard has also been suspended in the case.
