An unidentified male body was discovered on Vagator beach on Sunday morning.
According to Anjuna Police, the man appeared to be between 25 and 30 years old and was wearing brown pants and a T-shirt.
The lifeguards on duty noticed the body early in the morning and promptly alerted the police.
A police official stated that there were no visible injuries on the body, and initial observations suggest that the cause of death could be drowning.
As the identity of the deceased remains unknown, the police have decided to preserve the body until it can be claimed by someone.
The body will later be sent for a post-mortem to confirm the exact cause of death.
Anjuna Police have registered the case as an unnatural death and are continuing their investigation.
