In what will be a major boost to the tourism sector in the State, the latest report by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Covid has stated that Goa is one of only six States and Union Territories which has been declared safe for tourism.
Goa, Lakshadweep, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu & Kashmir, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh are the six places mentioned in the report. The Covid vaccination coverage in these six States and UTs is almost 100 per cent and so, they are safe for tourism activities, states the report.
