The Goa Forward Party (GFP) has raised serious environmental concerns associated with the proposed construction of the ‘Unity Mall’ at Merces.
In a letter to the Chief Secretary, GFP MLA and President Vijai Sardesai has warned the government to either approach the National Green Tribunal or High Court for justice.
He pointed out that proposed project site encompasses approximately 70,000 square meters of precious mangrove forest, which includes a portion of low-lying paddy fields covering 25,000 square meters and an ecologically sensitive mangrove area.
