PANAJI:
Health Minister Vishwajit Rane today declared that village panchayats of Usgao and Shiroda in Goa are the first to be TB-free.
Speaking at the TB Mukt Bharat event in Panaji, Rane reaffirmed the government's commitment to eradicate tuberculosis by providing free-of-cost tests, treatment, and nutritional support to patients.
“Numerous patients have benefited from Direct Benefit Transfers under the Nikshay Poshan Yojana and nutritional kits have been distributed by Nikshay Mitras. We remain committed to making Goa TB-free,” said Rane.
He said that Early diagnosis and treatment, along with community participation, are key towards achieving Goa's aim of making State TB-free.
