A single casuarina tree is being selectively cut with police protection. Inquiries reveal that this tree is the starting point for clearing exercise. At Dandeavaddo, Chinchinim there are many trees in the immediate vicinity of this tree that is being cut that pose great danger to motorists and electricity supply lines but seem to have escaped the scrutiny of authorities. It seems that some official in PWD is standing to benefit by the cutting of this high calorific, hard wood tree. Looks like another misplaced priority of PWD, NHAI.
