Vasco-based Congress leader Vishal Naik has joined the BJP along with his supporters on Saturday.
Vishwal was welcomed in the party at the South Goa district office in the presence of Urban Development Minister and Mormugao MLA Milind Naik, Vasco MLA Carlos Almeida, former Vasco MLA Rajendra Arlekar and party leaders, including state president Sadanand Tanavade, General Secretary Damu Naik and ex-MP Narendra Sawaikar.
Speaking on the occasion, Vishal said he was approached by former Chief Minster late Manohar Parrikar to join the BJP in 2017, but it could not materialize then. “I have finally decided to join party along with my supporters. We will work to strengthen the party in Vasco and will take the government schemes to the doorsteps of the people,” he said.
