ANC sleuths have arrested Tanesh Belkond, resident of Vasco, who was wanted in connection with a drug case registered earlier this year at the ANC Police Station.

The case was originally registered in April 2025 after two men, Raviraj Rivonkar of Verna and Lingu Donur of Margao, were arrested at the New Patto bus stand for being in alleged possession of hydroponic ganja worth Rs 17 lakh. A Skoda car used by the accused was also seized at the time.

“During interrogation, the ANC established that two more persons were involved in the drug supply chain. One of them, Nilesh Dhuri of Vasco, was arrested the following day, while Belkond was found to be abroad. A lookout circular was subsequently issued against him across all airports and seaports,” the ANC said.

Based on specific information that Belkond would arrive at Dabolim Airport on an early Wednesday morning flight from Dubai, the ANC team apprehended him immediately upon landing. He was subsequently remanded to judicial custody.

Further investigation is being conducted by PSI Girish Padloskar under the supervision of DySP ANC Nerlon Albuquerque and SP ANC Sunita Sawant.
