PANAJI: Petrol in Goa will cost about Rs 5 less per litre after Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar decided to cut Value Added Tax on the fuel by 3 to 4 per-cent in addition to the Rs 2.50 cut in excise duties announced by the Centre on Thursday.
Parrikar, who is confined to the AIIMS in Delhi tweeted around 8.30 pm on Thursday that the Goa government will further reduce fuel prices by Rs 2.50.
The decision is expected to cut revenues of the State to the extent of around Rs 10 crore per month.
"Many Thanks to PM @narendramodi ji for the #FuelPriceCut of Rs 2.50 per ltr. Goa Government will further reduce fuel prices by Rs 2.50 in the State," Parrikar tweeted from his @manoharparrikar handle.
