Velsao beach entrance being rebuilt
CORTALIM: Cortalim MLA Alina Saldanha inaugurated the work of strengthening the structure (circle) at the entrance of Velsao beach in the presence of Velsao Sarpanch Henrique D’Mello, local panch Fatima Pereira and villagers.
Speaking on the occasion, Saldanha said that the structure with the steps at the entrance of the beach was washed away during the monsoon of 2013, putting visitors to the beach in to hardships and inconvenience. Besides, there was also the fear of further erosion of land, she said.
The work is executed by the panchayat under the funds provided by Department of Science & Technology at the cost of Rs 9.95 lakh. The work is scheduled to be completed within 60 days.
