Fertilizer given to Nuvem college
MARGAO: As part of the second phase of environmental tree plantation programme of Lions Club International District 317B, fertilizers were provided to Carmel College for women at a function at the college campus, Nuvem on Tuesday. Carmel college was selected from among Goa and Kanataka colleges on the basis of environmental features.
It was pointed out that the college also has a botanical garden and outstanding credits in academic and sports fields.
District Governor Aggie Alcassoas along with Principal Sr Dr Aradhana inspected the 1500 fruit-bearing, medicinal and other plants which were planted at the launch of the programme. So far, nearly 60,000 saplings have been planted in the district under the sapling distribution programme. Harish Bhaskaran, Subash Pegade, Joe da Costa, Wilma da Costa, Francisco Xavier da Costa, Suresh Pai, Jovito Lopes, Dr Sister Lizanne, Dr Manoj, professors, staff and students of Carmel College were present at the function.
