Verna school's geological trip
PANAJI: To bring greater understanding, interest and practical knowledge about geology, the Fr Agnel Multipurpose HSS Verna organised a geological field work for the students of Std XI science at Palolem beach Canacona and at archaeological site Pansemol Collomba in Quepem taluka.
During the field work the students were exposed to metamorphic and igneous rocks along with the special feature of the discordant form of igneous intrusion “ DYKE.
Geology teacher Charudatta Kamat at Palolem beach explained about the texture and the structure of the rocks. At Palolem students observed and studied different aspects of rocks.
Computer teacher Sumant Soiroji also guided the 35 geology students that went on the field trip Laboratory attendant of geology department Joaquim Dias accompanied the students.
