Though Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clearly said that he can take a decision on an ordinance for the Ram Mandir construction only after the judicial process is over and the hearing of same is fixed on January 10, the Dharma Sabha of Vishwa Hindu Parishad held at old bus stand-Ponda on Sunday concluded with a demand of ordinance for early construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya.
Some of the leaders said that the Ram Mandir will definitely come into reality in 2020, while keynote speaker adv Deepakrao Gaikwad said that only Prime Minister Narendra Modi can protect the interest of Hindus.
Goa assembly speaker Dr Pramod Sawant, MP Adv Narendra Sawaikar, MP Vinay Tendulkar, Satish Dhond and other BJP leaders were present at the meeting.
While, VHP Goa Chief Santosh Mahanandu Naik, RSS Goa chief Laxman alias Nana Behare, Hansraj Swami, Sewalaal Maharaj, Mukundraj Maharaj, Ashokrao Chowgule, Madhukar Dikshit, Mahesh Bandekar, Anant Angade and others were present on the dais.
Heavy police security arrangements, with installation of metal detectors, were made in the vicinity of Dharma Sabha in view of the congregation in which many of VHP members, RSS volunteers and BJP workers along with their leaders took part.
VHP Goa Chief Santosh Mahanandu Naik said that there should be unity among Hindus to get this temple build. “We will have to be united to bring our dream into reality,” he said.
Deepakrao Gaikwad said that this fight is to build temple on the ‘Ram janma bhumi’ (birth place of Ram ). He hit out at senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal for requesting court to defer order after Lok Sabha election.
“Everyone knows the truth of Ramjanmabhumi. Hence we are optimistic about the verdict of apex court,” he said.
While concluding his speech, Gaikwad said that only Narendra Modi can protect the interest of Hindus. “Narendra Modi Raahannar, tarach Hindu Raahannar (As long as Narendra Modi is there, Hindus will be there),” he said.
Madhukar Dikshit said that the many sacrificed their lives before Independence for this temple. “Post independence the real movement started in 1985. Since then we are waiting for court’s verdict but for how long can we wait for this verdict,” he questioned.
He said that lord Ram took birth in Ayodhya and hence temple should be build there. “If apex court fails to give verdict early, then the central government should come up with an ordinance,” Dikshit said.
Mukundraj Maharaj and others also spoke on the occasion.
