The Semana Da Cultura Indo-Portuguesa (Goa) will organise the 7th Lusophone Film Festival from December 11 to 14, at the Marquinez Palace in Panjim.

This edition of the festival will showcase films in the Portuguese language from the Lusophone regions.

The film festival will open with the Portuguese film Skin by director Fernando Vendrell who will be arriving into Goa from Portugal for the event.

Fernando studied film at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema de Lisboa in 1985 and worked as an assistant director for several years with some of the leading names in European cinema. He went on to produce Fernando Trueba's , which won the Oscar for Best Foreign Picture in 1994.

At this edition, the film festival will screen eight critically acclaimed films. The movies to be screened include Skin (Director - Fernando Vendrell), The Refugee (Rui Cardoso), Cats Don’t Have Vertigo (António - Pedro Vasconcelos), Night (Aya Koretzky and Rodrigo Barros), The Pilot Boat, (Francisco Manso), The Lovebirds (Bruno de Almeida), What’s New About Love? (Hugo Alves, Mónica Santana Baptista, Hugo Martins, Tiago Nunes, Patrícia Raposo, Rui Alexandre Santos) and The Consul of Bordeaux (Francisco Manso and João Correia)

All the movies will be presented with English subtitles.
