“Congressmen and activists are envy over the work carried out at Sonsodo. The UGF is accusing us. But, is it not a fact that the UGF president was involved in working for the Congress party in Margao. You cannot be a Congressman as well as an activist. The Congress had neglected Sonsodo over the years. They have failed to solve the issue. In fact, they wanted to help the Gujarat contractor,” he said.
Saying that Sonsodo is a saga of neglect over the last 50 years, Sardesai said the government has covered the entire dump with a membrane for the first time well before the onset of monsoon.
